Bill Prodgers stepped up with outstanding control on the mound to record first win of 2008. Offensively, Aggies posted 20 hits, led by Rob Robidoux, Pete Brooks, Tom Delnickas, Glenn Rose & Bob Buck. Terry Brooks tripled to deep LC field for Yardarm to complete 5-run inning in the 5th.

And, he handled several tough chances for put-outs on defense. Dan Gaboury made outstanding catch in rightfield to end 2nd inning. For Bonatt's, Bob Condon killed rally with unassisted double-play at 1B.
06/21/2008 Aggregate Industries Foley Medical 7-4 Aggies answered 3 runs by Foley Medical in 1st inning with 5 runs in bottom of frame. And, hung on to win by score of 7-4. 16-hit attack was evenly distributed throughout lineup. Foley's erased two Aggie rallies with inning-ending doubleplays in 5th & 6th. Rob Robidoux made accrobatic catch in LF after slipping and falling to his knees. Rich Johnston hit 3-run HR for Foley Medical.

06/23/2008 Foley Medical Eye Health Services 7-6 Foley's finally pulled out of a slump by beating Eye Health Services 7-6. Nearly everyone in the lineup came through with key hits, but good defense helped stave off an Eye Health run in the last two innings. It was a great team victory!

06/28/2008 Foley Medical Bonatt's 7-6 The Foley's team displayed a lot of grit, as they started the game with 10 players, but lost their starting left centerfielder, John Lewis, with a dislocated finger. They borrowed a catcher from Bonatts, and with substitute outfielders, held on for 5 innings to cling to victory. Great hitting by Ron Guba 2/4, Dick Mariani 2/4, John Harper 3/4, Ron Palumbo 4/4, Jim Ritchie 2/4. Rich Johnston notched his first pitching victory out of the bullpen.
06/30/2008 Aggregate Industries Bonatt's 2-1 Aggies rallied in bottom of 7th to edge Bonatt's, 2-1. It was well-played, scoreless game through six innings, highlighted by good defensive plays by both clubs. Rob Robidoux made two long-running catches in leftfield for 3rd outs, with runners in scoring position. After Bonatt's took one-run lead in top of 7th, Aggies loaded the bases with clutch hits by Ron Folz, Rob Robidoux & Peter Brooks. This set table for Tom Delnickas, who crushed high drive over rightfielder's head to drive in tieing and game-winning runs. Aggies evened their record at 5-5.

07/02/2008 Foley Medical Aggregate Industries 6-5 Foleys was able to squeek out a victory over Aggregates by virtue of great hitting by Jim McGillen 3/3, John Harper 3/3, Bill Jennings 2/3, and Bob Oulette 2/2. Foleys' defense held Aggregate scoreless after the 3rd with good defense. Jim Ritchie turned 4 dp's and the outfield made some good catches under gusty wind conditions.
07/05/2008 Foley Medical Eye Health Services 6-4 Foley edged Eye Health on the strength of good hitting by Bill Jennings, Rich Johnston, Jim Ritchie, Bob Oulette, John Whalen, Dick Mariani and John Harper. Gerry Street drilled a "cannon shot" that dribbled about 4 feet in front of the plate. He had to be reminded that there's no bunting in this league. John Whalen pitched another outstanding game, with good control. Pool player Alan Segal made two "highlight reel" catches in right field. Despite the continuing absence of 3 starting outfielders, the guys continue to scratch out hits and play good defense to win.

Rob Robidoux had 3 hits, including triple to increase margin of victory. Tony Pinto made nice catch on hard-hit drive by Buddy Dodge. And, Dan Gaboury made running catch in RF to end inning with runners in scoring position.

07/21/2008 Foley Medical Bonatt's 12-10 Foley Medical broke out of a long slump led by the hitting of John Harper 3/3, 4 rbi's, George Dern 3/3, 2 rbi's, and Bill Jennings 2/3, 2 rbi's. Rich Johnston, Ron Guba, John Whalen and Ron Palumbo all contirbuted one hit each. George Dern and Ron Palumbo returned from injuries to bolster the Foley offense. George also made 2 good catches in left. Rich Johnston, Bill Jennings and Bob Oulette each had good catches and pitcher John Whalen had his usual good control.
07/23/2008 Aggregate Industries Bonatt's 11-10 Bonatt's rebounded from early deficit to take one-run lead in top of 7th inning. But, Aggies answered with lead-off triple by Dan Gaboury in bottom of frame. He scored tying run on sac-fly by Rob Robidoux. And, Peter Brooks singled and scored winning run on Glenn Rose's walk-off double to right centerfield fence. Rose knocked in 4 RBI. Brooks, Gaboury & Rose had 3 hits each. Pitcher, Charles Kelsey, helped his cause with 2 hits, including triple, and 2 RBI. Jim Dennis, Ron Folz & Robidoux extended rallies with 2 hits each.

Then, scored 6 in top of 7th to take the lead. Offense was led by Charles Kelsey, who had 3 clutch hits & drove in 5 RBI. Glenn Rose was 3 for 3, with 3 RBI. Other notables included Rob Robidoux, Bob Buck & Tony Pinto. Each had 2 hits & drove in 2 RBI.

With two out in top of 7th, Ron Folz singled to keep inning alive. And, Rob Robidoux followed with come-from-behind 3-run homer to deep left centerfield. Robidoux and Glenn Rose had 3 hits each, and drove in 3 RBI. Jack Deschamps drove in 2 runs with clutch double and single. And, Rich Adley drove in important tying run in 4th. Rich Johnston had big hit for Foley's with bases-clearing triple in 1st inning. Win extends Aggies' winning streak to 4 games

08/11/2008 Foley Medical Yardarm 12-8 Yardarm jumped out to a 5 run lead in the top of the first, but Foley's answered in the bottom half with 5 runs. The first 8 batters hit safely. Yardarm scored 3 in the 5th, but Foley's came back with 3. With 1 run in the 3rd and 3 in the 6th, Foley's was able to close it out. Foley's played great defense, highlighted by a rolling catch in left center by Bill Jennings. Good play at 3rd by John Harper. Foley's had one of their best games at the plate, hitting 20 for 37. George Dern 3/3, all others 2/3 or 1/3. First victory over a tough Yardarm team.

Tie-game was broken open by Aggies with 5 runs in top of 7th to take the lead. Pitcher, Charles Kelsey, had big game; going 3 for 3 and driving in 3 RBI. Rob Robidoux & Bob Buck were 3 for 4. And, Rich Adley extended big inning with clutch 2-run double to help Aggies match 5-run 1st inning by Yardarm. Gary Simmons walloped 2-run triple for Yardarm to make it close in bottom of 7th inning.
08/13/2008 Foley Medical Bonatt's 9-6 Foley's picked up 1 run in the 3rd, 4 in the 4th and 1 in the 5th while holdoing Bonatt's scoreless. Leading 6-0 after 6 1/2 innnings, disaster struck and Bonatt's rebounded with 6 runs in the bottom of the 7th. Foley's came back with 3 runs in the top of the 8th, and held off Bonatt's in the bottom, to hand on to win. Foley's was paced by Bill Jennings 4/5, John Lewis 3/4, while Jim Ritchie, Rich Johnston, John Whalen, and Bob Oulette were 2/4. John Harper was 2/5 and Dick Mariani 1/4. Foley's turned 3 double plays in the infield to help out pitcher Rich Johnston, who pitched a great game. Bonatt's made a great run in the 7th, but Foley's came back for the "w".

And, Tony Pinto was 3 for 3; with clutch 2-out, bases clearing triple to gain some separation. He also caught two hard-hit drives in right centerfield. Jack Deschamps & Ron Folz chipped in with 2 hits each, including timely doubles with runners in scoring position. Bonatt's rallies were cut short by 3 Aggie double-plays. Joe Barry had multi-hit game for Bonatt's.

Bill Prodgers kept big 5th inning alive with run-scoring triple; to the delight of his son, Mike, visiting from Dallas, TX. Neil Harris made outstanding catch in deep right centerfield for Foley's, and he cleared the bases with triple in 2nd inning.
