    Comments: Sam Diego’s organizes Halloween benefit for CHAMP Homes on October 31st On October 31st, Sam Diego’s will sponsor its 23rd annual gala Halloween Party to benefit CHAMP Homes in Hyannis. The party will be held from 9 p.m. to 12 p.m. midnight and various contests for the best costume will be held. Raffle tickets are on sale at Sam Diego’s, for many prizes, including a 2-night stay at the Jared Coffin House on Nantucket, golf at New Seabury Resort and Golf at Hyannis Golf club. In addition, many local businesses will provide great prizes and gift certificates. Currently 47 men and women depend on CHAMP Homes in Hyannis for their home AND family. They range from teenagers, 17 years of age, to adults, challenged with emotional, physical or mental health issues, to those who lack educational, employment or supportive assistance. They have chosen to become “Champs”. Since its founding in 1991, over 900 individuals have experienced the opportunity to become more independent and contributing citizens. Thanks to CHAMP Homes citizens have saved thousands of tax dollars in program costs. The CHAMP contributions to our communities in services and spirit are indeed priceless.     Comments: I was a member of the Chatham Drama Guild in 1978-1981...lived on the Cape from 1974 to 1994. Parent buried in Old Yarmouth Port cemetary. Still have two brothers living on the Cape. Also worked for the Cape Cod Times...and played in the Cape Cod Baseball League. Hope to hear from you....Bruce!
